Over 250 homeless and abandoned animals each year find a new home through our shelter- could you help us?

 

Monetary donations to the Humane Society of Adams County can be made with cash, checks, or credit cards online using the Donate button on this page. We also welcome in-kind donations, such as volunteer time and professional services, especially building, vehicle, and equipment maintenance.

Legacy Fund

The Legacy Fund was conceived by the Board of Trustees of the Humane Society of Adams County, Inc. (HSAC) and the community whose shared vision was to develop a “financial support system” for the homeless pets of Adams County, Ohio. The Legacy Fund has grown over the past few years in size, strength, and capacity and we are confident that this fund will proudly serve the animals of our community in decades to come. 

 

The Legacy Fund:

  • Works to ensure through permanent, planned gifts, that the homeless pets of Adams County can face any challenges that confront them—now and for generations to come

  • Encourages collaboration among agencies serving Adams County

  • Promotes enrichment of the lives of pets and pet owners in the Adams County area

Planned Giving

We hope you’ll consider including a gift to The Humane Society of Adams County in your will or living trust. Called a charitable bequest, this type of gift offers these main benefits:

  • Simplicity. Just a few sentences in your will or trust are all that is needed.


  • Flexibility. Because you are not actually making a gift until after your lifetime, you can change your mind at any time.


  • Versatility. You can structure the bequest to leave a specific item or amount of money, make the gift contingent on certain events, or leave a percentage of your estate to us.
 

 

To leave a gift in your will, simply share this sentence with your attorney or financial planner:

 

“I bequeath $_____________ or ________________ % of my estate to the Humane Society of Adams County, Inc., P.O. Box 245, West Union, OH 45693.”
